Request donations of County surplus property
This program enables eligible organizations to source County surplus goods at no cost.
Eligibility
Organizations eligible to receive donations of County surplus properties must be either a public agency in the County or demonstrate that they meet these criteria:
- Be a private non-profit organization; and
- Currently working for public benefit in the County.
How to request donations
If your organization is eligible in receiving a donation, submit a letter on agency letterhead with the following information:
- Identify your organization as a non-profit signed by the approving authority requesting the property;
- Describe how the property will be used.

Donation distribution
There is no guarantee that an organization will receive the property when more than one organization has requested the same items. When this occurs, our office makes the final decision regarding the recipient of the donations.
When we have allocated surplus property, and more than one organization requests the same item, we make the final decision as to which organization(s) will receive the property based on a random selection process, such as a lottery. The quantity of surplus items that may be received by the organization, may be limited to allow other eligible organizations to have access to the items.
